Thompkins Child & Adolescent Services, Inc. is a contract agency of the Mental Health & Recovery Services Board of Coshocton, Guernsey, Morgan, Muskingum, Noble and Perry Counties.  The Board provides extra funding to Thompkins for the purpose of providing enhanced services and benefits to the citizens of the counties supporting the Board's local tax levies.

Thompkins Child and Adolescent Services, Inc.  (Thompkins) is a private, non-profit comprehensive mental and behavioral healthcare agency that serves the emotional and behavioral needs of youth  since 1982.  

Thompkins Intensive Outpatient Services (IOS) program serves youth ages 12 - 17 who are at risk of hospitalization, out of home placement or who have recently been returned from out-of-home placement due to severe emotional and/or behavioral challenges or family crisis. 
It is the vision of Thompkins that every child and family live in a nurturing and violence free environment and are able to utilize their abilities to reach full potential as individuals, family members and citizens of their community.  We are committed to integrating the values of Respect, Integrity, Dedication, Quality and Professionalism into every activity and service provided.

Youth within the IOS program generally meet one or more of the following:

-Treatment with less restrictive services was attempted, but was not effective
-Youth and/or family have insufficient resources or skills to cope with an immediate crisis
-Youth and/or family issues are unmanageable in school based or behavior services setting
-Youth is placed out-of-home and reunification is imminent.

All therapist are specially trained to provide therapy and services that focus around the youth's treatment care needs.   Program hours are 8:30 - 2:30 Monday through Friday with educational time included.

Youth who receive help through Thompkins IOS program often experience the following:

-Depression
-Anxiety
-History of trauma
-Bipolar Disorder
-School/academic problems
-Grief/Loss
-Physical aggression
-Anger management problems
-Peer problems
-Family conflict/divorce
-Sexual and/or physical abuse
-Misbehavior at home or in school
